Seriplast Food FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Seriplast food trays suitable for food contact?
Yes. All our trays are produced with certified food-grade materials and manufactured in a dedicated facility (SERIPLAST FOOD) with certification BRC, which guarantees that the products comply with strict hygiene-sanitary and quality management requirements
What is BRC certification?
BRC (British Retail Consortium) certification is an international standard for food safety and quality that ensures products comply with strict hygiene-sanitary and quality management requirements. To achieve it, it is necessary to create and maintain a food safety management system at the production site, covering aspects such as product control, personnel hygiene, allergen management, and control of production environments and processes.
This year too, we have achieved the highest category (AA) of BRC certification
What materials do you use for food containers?
We produce trays in PET, PP, PS, and other laminated and barrier materials (PET-PE, PETEVOHPE, PPEVOHPP), all suitable for food contact. We can also produce trays in compostable materials such as PLA. Depending on the application, we recommend the most suitable material in terms of technical characteristics and sustainability
Can the trays be customized in size and design?
Absolutely yes. We specialize in creating custom thermoformed trays based on the specific needs of the client, guiding them from design to final production of the tray, agreeing together on the ideal characteristics of your “customized” tray. Thanks to custom tray design, it is also possible to minimize the weight and volume of the packaging as required by new EU environmental directives (PPWR)
Are your trays compatible with automatic sealing and packaging?
Yes. We design trays optimized for automatic and semi-automatic packaging lines, including of course heat-sealable and sealable trays, also in MAP (modified atmosphere packaging).
We often collaborate directly with those who need to implement packaging automation to create trays with ideal characteristics to allow the best performance in speed and quality of packaging your product.
Do you also produce lids to match the trays?
Yes. Naturally, everything indicated for the trays also applies to the coordinated lids to ensure perfect compatibility, resistance, and seal during packaging and transport.
